Some say it's a staple food. Others say if chocolate is not
in heaven they don't want to go. Still others call it a sort of healing herb,
especially when you consider the properties within dark chocolate. And while the health conscious may ward off the "drug" saying it does little if anything
for the body, they still may take a bite or two when the feeling or need
strikes them. However I would like to call it fondly as my "first
love".

Now this "first love" of mine has a got very interesting history. Its origins can be traced back to the ancient Mayan and Aztec civilizations in Central America where it was known as 'Theobroma cacao', meaning 'food of the gods'. The Aztecs introduced cocoa to the Spaniards, who took it back to Europe in the 16th century. However it was very expensive, so only the rich could afford it. It gets its name from the term, chicolatl meaning "beaten drink".

Every child's dream is to see the insides of a chocolate factory. And yes mine did come true.I visited the fabulous Cadbury Chocolate Factory in Birmingham. The whole damn time I was there I somewhat looked like this -->

Me in Cadbury World! eee!

Writing in molten chocolate!

Yes! I did eat every single one of them.
It's strange how something as simple and common as a chocolate can fill you up with joy, content and happiness. However it is scientifically proven that chocolate actually contains a chemical often known as the "love drug"(Phenylethylamine) which releases the same chemicals that are introduced into the human body when love comes to call. In my words it's the "magic" of chocolate which drives you nuts over it.
So ending on a sweeter note(quite literally), go buy a bar of chocolate and make yourself happy and do remember to spread the happiness as it is best enjoyed when shared. ;) :D
Go Chocolate! All hail the Chocoholics!
